Our Story

Nimrod Outdoors started in 2014 when M.A. Dozier decided to follow a dream he had always had in taking fathers and their children hunting. That year, M.A. and his wife, Chelsea, utilized a family property to take 3 separate groups of dads and their boys hunting while using that time as an opportunity to share the gospel.

The following year, Nimrod Outdoors became an official non-profit. The organization continued to grow as M.A. and Chelsea began to use different outlets to share the gospel including a men's breakfast, backpacking events, hunting events, fishing events, archery tag, and more. The ministry utilized different properties all across the Carolinas. As the ministry grew, many events functioned out of hotels and became challenging to balance work, a growing family, and the ministry. It was time for the minsitry to find a place to call home.

In 2019, Nimrod Outdoors moved to Elberton, Georgia. M.A. and Chelsea purchased a small property where they spent the next two years remodeling parts of their house and garage to create both The Sanctuary, a gorgious, studio-style room used for respite care, as well as The Bunkhouse, a lodge used for men's retreats.

By the end of 2022, Nimrod Outdoors will have hosted or participated in over 35 events ranging from speaking engagements, men's retreats, father-child events, and respite care at their Georgia location. On top of all the events, Nimrod Outdoors also started a podcast (The Nimrod Outdoors Podcast) and published their first devotion (The Hands of a Warrior).
